I chose Sala Done Khone Hotel specifically because I wanted to visit the Old French Railway Bridge. To my surprise, the hotel also offered bike and car hire services, which made it very convenient for exploring the area. I loved being able to explore the beautiful garden and take advantage of the dry cleaning services.

What a pleasant surprise our stay at Sala Don Khone was! The floating room experience was truly unique and unforgettable. Waking up to the gentle flow of the river right outside our window was incredibly relaxing. The large and airy dining area, also floating on the water, provided a picturesque setting to enjoy delicious meals. The staff were very helpful and assisted us with our travel arrangements, making our stay even more convenient. The location of the hotel was ideal, with easy access to nearby restaurants. Despite a few minor issues like poor water pressure in the shower and a worn-out room, the overall experience was fantastic. We enjoyed the refreshing pool every day to beat the hot weather. The idyllic riverside setting and the colonial building added to the charm of the hotel. The included breakfast was lovely, and the wireless connection was surprisingly good for a remote location. I would highly recommend Sala Don Khone for a memorable and relaxing stay in the 4000 Islands.

As a budget traveler, I loved the affordable floating villa on the Mekong with a private balcony and swimming pool onsite. The location was great, with fantastic restaurants nearby and easy access to waterfalls and beaches. The reception staff were very helpful and the showers were good.

The pool at the hotel was quite dirty and the view from the pool area was not appealing. The breakfast provided was simple and lacked variety, especially if you did not like eggs.

Imagine watching the majestic Mekong River at its widest point. Free breakfast is a plus but don't count on the shuttle service, it's more like a game of hide and seek.

Location perfect for exploring. Big swimming pool great for kids.

The hotel's decoration was simply delightful, with beautiful traditional touches that made me feel right at home. The general areas were well-maintained and had a cozy ambiance, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the tranquility of the Mekong River. As a senior woman, I highly appreciated the hotel's accessibility. There were no steep stairs to climb, and the pathways were smooth and easy to navigate.

It would have been even better if there were more activities or facilities specifically catered to senior guests. Perhaps some gentle exercise classes or organized outings with other guests of similar age would have been a wonderful addition to make our vacation even more enjoyable.

The location of this hotel was super convenient, with easy access to everything. The staff went above and beyond by leaving beautiful fresh flowers in our room - such a lovely touch! Despite the room needing some refurbishing, the cleaning staff did an amazing job. The bungalows were totally jaw-dropping, and being able to sit on our own private balcony right on the water's edge and watch the sunset was mind-blowing. The food at the restaurant was top-notch and comparable to other places on the island. The view from the restaurant and pool was absolutely breathtaking, and the pool provided a much-needed relief from the island heat. The hotel's location was also ideal as it was within walking distance to the pier. Lastly, the fact that they arranged a boat pick-up directly from the hotel at the end of our stay was a major plus. This hotel is a definite winner for those visiting Don Khone Island.
